Can we wrap the series Saturday?
Huh? Huh? Can we?
I think so.
I’ll admit I was a little nervous going into this series because all season, Ovechkin was IT. But now, not so much. Even when the Flyers don’t play that well, they can still steal a game. That, my friends, is what I call epic.
The boys had me worried last night. For half of the game, really. Maybe even more than half. Thank goodness the Carter/Upshall/Knuble line was on fire. They have such great chemistry together and I’m so happy that Carts in finally getting his swagger back. Actually, I think he’s always had that swagger, now he’s just showing the skill to go along with it.
And I continue to be amused/impressed by how many of the boys are coming soclose to a hat trick. Give them time.
The first three goals aside, I felt Biron had another strong game. He didn’t save them all, but he saved them when it counted. I think Huet might have played his best game so far this series. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t good enough.
And if OT isn’t bad enough, we had to endure 1.5 rounds of it. Talk about intense. I was standing, dancing from foot to foot, from the middle of the third till the end of the game. Oi.
I can’t stress how much I want Thor back on the Richie/Lupes line. Like right now. Kay, Johnny boy?
I love how we have four lines that produce and not just one or two. Goes to show why we’re the only team in the NHL with seven 20plus goal scorers. (Again with the Oven Chicken who?)
I miss Cote. A lot. He’s not on the ice often, but when he is, you know it. And I miss his presence on the bench. Sigh. I know it’s a luxury that we have to keep juggling our guys because we have so many who are full of win, but still…sigh.
My respect for Danny B keeps on growing. I love that he doesn’t back down from anyone, even if they are three times his size. I love that he can still score a goal, even if he didn’t have the best game ever. And I love that he full out tells it how it is, admitting when he didn’t play to his potential without sugar coating things.
