Round 2, here we come!
I think watching hockey is bad for my health. I have never had so many mental breakdowns and heart attacks in such a short span of time.
But enough of my craziness. Let’s talk hockey.
First and foremost, I am SO happy that Lupes got the game-winning goal. I was impatiently waiting for him to break out all throughout this series and I’m so glad that he finally did. What a beauty that one was. His reaction, throwing his stick and just screaming, and the team glomping on him - that was an epic moment if I’ve ever seen one. I hope this really gets him going for Round 2!
Marty Biron did SO well this series. I know he wasn’t perfect but he played with such confidence and composure and so much better than the non-believers were calling. I’m just so proud of him. There were some soft goals here and there, but I think he really stepped up when he needed to. He made some amazing saves last night, thank bb jeebus.
Kukkie > Modes…and that is all I will say on that front.
I wish Downie would have had a better playoff premiere. He was pretty much forgettable, except for those two penalties. I still think he’s awesome though.
Um Thor needs to get a goal like NOW. Kthxbai. Srsly. He is such a hard worker, that play last night, the assist on Kap’s goal was so, so good. And he’s one of those players that plays well with whoever he’s teamed with, whether it be Richie/Lupes or Kaps/JD.
I think the thing I was most disappointed about last night was the fan reaction to the Flyers’ win. Throwing shit on the ice. That is so made of fail. At first I was like, well not even Philly fans would do that, but then I was like oh yea right, we HAVE done that. But even in Philly, I think it lacks class. I dunno, as much as you hate another team and stuff, I just think that’s a crappy thing to do.
It’s not bad enough that they threw trash on the ice and players, but Carts was even hit in the head with a bottle during an interview…I mean COME ON, PEOPLE. A little dignity, kthxbai. Carts surprised me though and just kind of shrugged it off, even though you could tell he was pissed. Who wouldn’t be?
Anyway, I’m just so happy the boys are skating through to round 2. I hope they can regroup quickly and show the Habs what Flyers hockey is all about!
P.S. I think my favorite moment of last night, game-winning goal aside, was Scottie Upshall taunting Oven Chicken with diving hand gestures. Bwahaha.

Lupes and Scottie. I cannot express here any better than I have anywhere else. You know I am mental, so that is all. lol
Honestly, we’ve talked so much about this already what more is there to say?
I agree with everything you said re: Biron/Thor/Kukks/Downie, etc.
Um, the fan that threw that bottle at Carts is a RETARD. And I agree, I was pleasantly surprised by his reaction. It reminded me of “They’re in your heads . . . why?” So like, I love him. lol
I don’t think he’s as bad as we first thought. I think he’s just one of those people that gives off the wrong vibes.
But anyway, yeah, I thought he handled it very maturely.
And yeah, I’m not talking hockey at all over here. lol
Marty was AMAZING. Scottie was AMAZING.
Lupes was awesome. Kaps goal Fab-O!
Just an all around fantastic game.
Overall in the series the Flyers dominated the Caps. They deserved to win (this honestly should’ve been a 4 game series). I am so happy they made it to the semi’s. Habs’ll be tough. But they can do it. We can beat ‘em! I know it =)
